Samuel Crowell
Graduate student
Sam received his B.S. in Biology from West Virginia University. As a Ph.D. student in the McCouch lab, he uses natural variation in panicle length as a model for understanding transgressive variation in O. sativa. He is currently designing a high-throughput system for measuring several panicle traits within 400 diverse O. sativa accessions, including: rachis length, branch length, and primary and secondary branching patterns. In his free time, Sam enjoys cooking and travel.
